Maintaining Your Results from Liposuction

For those looking to slim down their mid-section, liposuction has proven to be both safe and effective.

However, doctors say that in order for the effects of the procedure to last over time, it is essential for patients to keep up a healthy lifestyle.

Women Considered to Be Good Lipo Candidates

Nancy Kelly decided she wanted to go under the knife after consistently being called “Santa belly.”

“I diet, I exercise, I eat right. It’s just I had a big tummy,” explains Kelly.

Beth Steele also decided it was time for liposuction when diet and exercise weren’t getting the results she wanted for her stomach.

“Just from working out the little areas that you just can’t get to be where you want them to be, so I’m making that perfect,” says Steele.

According to Dr. Roger Bassin, both of these women are perfect candidates for liposuction.

What Are the Requirements?

According to Dr. Bassin, if you don’t maintain a healthy lifestyle before and after having liposuction, the surgery won’t be as effective.

Although the fat won’t necessarily come back where it originally was, there’s a possibility that it will store in other parts of your body.

Dr. Bassin also suggests that patients not only pick a doctor who is board certified, but also bring an “after” shot to their consultation showing the results they are hoping for.
